Altair to help MAM4HP analysis program

Keep updated with all the pieces that’s occurring within the fantastic world of AM by way of our LinkedIn group.

Altair, a computational intelligence firm, is taking part within the Metallic Additive Manufacturing for Excessive Efficiency (MAM4HP) analysis program, a part of Italy’s Nationwide Restoration and Resilience Plan (PNRR) and funded by the European Union via NextGenerationEU sources. The challenge brings collectively a number of the most modern Italian corporations and focuses on the event of AM applied sciences.

“Altair is proud to help MAM4HP and assist advance Italy’s additive manufacturing capabilities,” stated Stefano Deiana, Vice President of Spain, France, and Italy for Altair. “By combining our simulation and optimization applied sciences with the ingenuity of different MAM4HP companions, we’re accelerating innovation and enabling the following era of elements.”

Spanning over 18 months, the MAM4HP challenge is structured in two phases. The primary part focuses on the redesign and structural optimization of mechanical elements to make sure they’re appropriate for AM. The second part will concentrate on optimizing printing parameters and post-production processes.

As a part of this system, the Altair HyperWorks design and simulation platform will permit redesign actions to be developed in accelerated timelines, offering designers with options prepared for subsequent manufacturing. Altair’s options may even be used to investigate particular shapes, which permit the sizing of notably important artifacts to be optimized.

Different MAM4HP companions, together with Leonardo, Ducati, Bonfiglioli, Poggipolini, and Jumo Design, have proposed use instances to revamp elements for AM based mostly on a design for additive manufacturing (DFAM) strategy.
