Protolabs installs second Axtra3D Lumia X1 3D printer

Protolabs has put in its second Axtra3D Lumia X1 3D printer, lower than a 12 months after buying its first. 

The digital manufacturing service supplier initially adopted Axtra3D’s Hybrid PhotoSynthesis (HPS) expertise in September 2024

A second Lumia X1 machine has been sought in response to rising buyer demand, with Protolabs leveraging the HPS expertise primarily for ceramic mould inserts and fire-retardant purposes. Protolabs has felt the expertise is appropriate for these sorts of purposes due to the machine’s ‘precision, floor high quality, dimensional accuracy, and throughput.’
